Lynchburg, VA – Skateboarding and street art will collide this weekend at Lynchburg’s first Garagefest.
Organizers say the festival is an eclectic way to show some off local vendors, and showcase different types of artists.
There will be an area for skateboarders to try some tricks on ramps, and several graffiti artists displaying their work. There will also live musicians, classic cars, a chainsaw artist, and fire dancers. It’s taking place in a parking garage on Commerce Street. And it’s all free, thanks to a grant from the Economic Development Office.
“We have cupcakes for kids. We’ll have face painters. On the bottom level we have Harley Davidson is coming and bringing a simulator machine, we have art work. We have a pimping photo booth where you can have your picture taken in front of a car,” said Tabitha Abbott, Event Coordinator of Garagefes
Garagefest is this Saturday from noon to 8:00 p.m. Six artists will display their work for Lynchburg’s First Fridays from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Garagefest will be hosted at a parking garage on 1001 Commerce Street in downtown Lynchburg.
