In the 1920’s, Lynchburg, Virginia was one of the largest shoe manufactures and distributors in the world. Ironically, it was also home to the Shoeless Wonders, a team of orphans who became a national legend playing football without shoes for a winning streak of 8 years.
A group of determined orphan boys work together to overcome obstacles, defy expectations, and become the SHOELESS WONDERS, a legendary 1920’s Virginia barefoot football team that went undefeated and unscored upon for eight years. Inspired by real events at The Presbyterian Orphan’s Home in Lynchburg Virginia, now HumanKind.
On Wednesday, September 17 the filmwakers will host a kick-off event to promote and celebrate the filming of the SHOELESS WONDERS in Lynchburg, Virginia.
