Whitney Slightham accepting award at International Economic Development Council conference in Alaska

Yesterday was an exciting day for the Lynchburg Economic Development Authority - we were awarded a silver medal at the International Economic Development Council's annual conference in Anchorage, Alaska!

IEDC's Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize the world’s best economic development marketing materials, programs and partnerships. These prestigious awards honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in urban, suburban and rural communities. Our Opportunity Lynchburg website and digital marketing strategy won IEDC's Silver Medal for General Website, which recognizes the best communities using the web as an effective marketing tool to promote services and other information to their audiences.

Our website, built by 434 Marketing, a local inbound marketing and web development start-up, was launched just under a year ago. Embracing digital marketing has already helped us better market Lynchburg's strengths and target new opportunities to foster economic growth.

The Lynchburg Economic Development Authority is honored by this recognition and thrilled to continue to work on behalf of the City of Lynchburg to drive business growth.
