Janelle Galbraith brings passion for her community to her role as the Assistant Director of Economic Development and Tourism in the City of Lynchburg. Her many years of work in local government contribute to her commitment to equity and collaboration and her drive to continually work to make Lynchburg a place everyone is proud to call home.
Janelle has a Bachelor’s degree in English and History from Athens State University and a Master’s degree in English Language and Literature from Radford University. In addition to her work in local government, she is an adjunct professor who teaches college-level writing. She has lived all over the United States and in Germany and has traveled extensively both nationally and abroad. She and her husband, Tom, most recently relocated to Lynchburg from Redding, California, with their daughters. Janelle is an avid reader, and when her nose is not buried in a book, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and belting out the lyrics to musicals with her family.
