Glenn Dubois, Chancellor of the Virginia Community College System, is set to visit Central Virginia Community College on May 19, 2015. The visit comes as a result of a new mandate from the Governor, which created a workforce initiative entitled “The New Virginia Economy”.
Accompanying the Chancellor on his visit will be Maurice Jones, the Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade.
The initiative, which is led by Jones, is a result of Governor McAuliffe’s desire to help give Virginians the skills they need for better employment.
“By better aligning workforce supply to employer demands, we can implement common-sense solutions that will help insure Virginia’s workers can get the skills they need for the jobs they want,” Gov. McAuliffe said last year.
Business leaders are invited to attend and share their ideas and business needs with them.
Chancellor Dubois and Secretary Jones will be visiting CVCC for this special Town Hall Meeting from 10:30am-11:45am on May 19, 2015.
If you and/or any representatives from your business are interested in attending, please RSVP to Cathy Sanders at sandersc@cvcc.vccs.edu or 434-832-7607 by May 15, 2015.
