From Cultural Competency to Equity Literacy

Is it enough to be “competent?” Over the years, many scholars and practitioners have shifted their language and emphasis to creating cultural proficiency. Even more recently, a new concept has been introduced, called Equity Literacy. This workshop will share details about the Equity Literacy framework, exploring how it can best be implemented in a workplace setting. Participants will have the opportunity to analyze their own organization and develop strategies to move beyond cultural competence on the path to Equity Literacy.
