1. Rivermont Pizza
With specialty wood-fired pizzas and craft beer on tap, Rivermont Pizza will exceed any expectations. This relaxed pizzeria offers fantastic food, great service, and fun activity nights. Head out on Mondays for a trivia night and see how you do. Or, if you’re in need of a date night, on Wednesdays you can get a bottle of wine, an appetizer, a specialty pizza, and dessert for under $40.
2. Peaks View Park
With its fun activities and beautiful scenery, Peaks View Park offers something for the whole family. This park includes a paved walking trail, lighted tennis course, seven multi-purpose fields, volleyball courts, a basketball court, mountain bike trails and a disc golf course. There is even a creek that runs through it. If you don’t feel like being active, you can also rent out pavilions or hang up a hammock and relax while the kids play.
3. Jimmy’s on the James
Tucked in a historic building in downtown Lynchburg, this jazzy supper club delivers the perfect night out. With a newly renovated bar, exposed brick walls, low lighting, and great staff, this intimate restaurant will capture you with its classy and unique atmosphere. Every Tuesday-Thursday, live music accompanies your meal, and you may even catch a performance by Jimmy himself.
4. Liberty Mountain Snowflex
Looking for a fun out-of-the-box activity? The Liberty Mountain Snowflex is the place to go. Placed on top of the scenic Liberty Mountain, Snowflex offers mountain tubing, snowboarding, and skiing for all ages. The best part is: it’s open all year round! No need to wait for the snow to come. As an added bonus, the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains – especially at sunset – is incredible.
5. Tiny Town Golf
This little gem is one of Lynchburg’s best. Located right on Timberlake Road, Tiny Town is an affordable way to have fun. But this is no ordinary putt putt center. They also offer glow-in-the-dark golf on Friday and Saturday nights during the summer! That’s something you won’t want to miss! With unique obstacles and a hometown feel, Tiny Town will not disappoint.
