National Walkability Expert, Mark Fenton, to Visit Lynchburg for Stakeholder Workshops

January 29, 2016

The Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance and the Work Healthy Lynchburg coalition will convene a Leadership & Policy Makers’ Breakfast with national planning, transportation and public health expert and former host of PBS’s “America’s Walking” series, Mark Fenton. Business leaders, top elected and appointed officials, heads of advocacy organizations and non-profits will convene for a dialogue on the Economics of Quality of Place.

Attend this complimentary breakfast session focused on providing the key principles of healthy community design and the triple bottom line benefits. Also covered will be specific recommendations for action that our community can pursue in both the short term (e.g. demonstration and pilot projects) and longer term (policy and infrastructure implementation).

Key Reasons to Attend:

  • If you’re a business/non-profit or government leader who loves our community and cares about community sustainability.
  • If you’re engaged in workforce recruitment and retention at your organization, learn the strategies other communities are using to attract the best and brightest.
  • Learn what “Quality of Place” issues could be improved to enhance our economic development efforts.
  • See what other communities similar to us have done to create policies that lead to greater opportunities in economic development, workforce development and community sustainability.
